It was fascinating hearing from Shane about some of the history behind Galway. He is an excellent story-teller, and brings to life events from Galway’s past – which brings a greater appreciation of this fine city (and country!). He’s super approachable and easy to talk to – and his love of history and Galway is obvious. Time and money well-spent – I highly recommend Shane and Galway City Tours!

We booked Shane, (and sometimes Gary) for a private tour of Sky Road, Connemara & Cong and the Tour of the Tribes of Galway City. Do yourself a favor and book them too! Shane was so friendly, funny, knowledgeable and accommodating. He took us to lesser known areas that were: 1. not filled with tourists and 2. places we would have never discovered on our own. Moreover, on our tours, he directed us to the best restaurants and bars in the area (often in these remote little villages) and they were some of my favorite places of our whole trip.
There was a really thoughtful balance of touring, education, jokes, photos ops and rest stops (where we drank lots of Guinness). We even requested to go somewhere off his normal circuit (a park in Galway honoring the grandfather of our good friend) and Shane was happy to squeeze it into our itinerary. It was a much better trip because of his tours. Prior to meeting him, we had booked a tour of the Wild Atlantic Way to The Cliffs of Moher and I wish we had booked a private tour with him instead. Next time!
